Once you decide to accept the call, you can talk to the delivery person in real time, open your gate in a single click via the Somfy Protect app, and ask them to drop off the parcel at your door.

You can watch the video in real time to make sure that the delivery person follows your instructions and that they leave immediately, allowing you to close the gate behind them.

Check who is at your door, no matter where you are

If you are in the middle of a meeting and miss a call notification on your smartphone, there is no need to panic. Simply check your call history – which can be accessed at any time from the Somfy Protect app or the indoor monitor – to learn more about your missed visitor: date, time and even their identity (via a photo on the indoor monitor, or via a short video on the Somfy Protect app). If it turns out to be a service provider (painter, gardener, etc.), you can simply get in touch to reschedule.

The call history is also very useful for spotting suspicious behaviour while you are out. If someone you don't know rings the bell multiple times at different times of day, and if they seem a little too curious or shifty (looking over your fence, checking that no one is watching them, etc.), they might be casing your home for a burglary.

Keep your home as secure as possible

Did you know that 90% of burglaries are initiated after the burglar has called the victim's video doorbell or intercom to check that no one is home?

Fortunately, by connecting your videophone to your smartphone, you can pretend to be home no matter where you are. If you receive a suspicious call notification on your Somfy Protect app (unknown visitor, shifty behaviour), you can simply answer the call and tell them that you are in the middle of cooking, a video meeting, or any other excuse that makes it seem like you are at home but busy! If they are a burglar, they will probably leave. Otherwise – if you can see on the camera that they are still lurking – you can also activate the siren of your connected alarm (via the Somfy Protect app) to scare them off.

Additionally, when you actually are at home, the connected video door phone also allows you to screen your visitors without having to confront them face to face. If you don't want to deal with pushy door-to-door salespeople or suspicious callers, you are under no obligation to open the gate or grant them access to your property.

You can centralise up to five connected products or groups of products on your indoor monitor (connected garage door, connected roller shutters, connected gate, connected lights, etc.) to control them individually or as a group!

What's more, you can also launch up to two TaHoma® scenes from the Somfy Protect app: if you have a TaHoma® switch home automation hub, you do not need to switch from one app to another to control your connected home.
